Overview

Emilio handles a broad range of civil matters within the Firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group, including divorce and custody actions, criminal defense, employment, and personal injury claims. Emilio also represents businesses in navigating commercial and employment issues.

Emilio obtained an Intellectual Property Certificate from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and is passionate about assisting writers, artists, and businesses with the development, acquisition, and protection of trademarks and copyrightable works, from registration to enforcement.

While at UCONN, Emilio was presented the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for his success in mediating and negotiating settlements in employment disputes on behalf of the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) with the School’s Mediation Clinic.

A skilled case manager, Emilio applies this broad knowledge base to engage in creative problem solving and create value for his clients.

Prior to joining Cohen and Wolf, Emilio worked with the Center for Latino Progress in Hartford, where he leveraged relationships with corporate, small business, and non-profit organizations for the benefit of underserved populations. A native of Puerto Rico, Emilio prides himself in his ability to represent Spanish-speaking clients in their language.

Emilio has been named to the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association (CHBA), and serves as a Presidential Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Association, appointed to the Intellectual Property Section.
