Attorneys Jason A. Buchsbaum and Jonathan W. (Jack) Fazzino Sworn in as State Representatives
Cohen and Wolf, P.C. is pleased to announce that Attorneys Jason A. Buchsbaum and Jonathan W. (Jack) Fazzino were both sworn in as State Representatives at Connecticut’s General Assembly in Hartford on Wednesday, January 8th.
Jason Buchsbaum was elected in November 2024 to serve his first term as a republican state representative for the 69th House District, which includes Bridgewater, Roxbury, Southbury and a portion of New Milford. For the 2025-2026 legislative session, Jason will serve on the Commerce Committee, the Energy and Technology Committee, and the Public Safety and Security Committee. Before running for state office, Jason served five terms as a member of the Southbury Board of Selectmen.
Jason is a Principal in Cohen and Wolf’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Municipal, and Property Tax and Valuation Practice Groups, is Chair of the Municipal Group, and serves as Town Attorney to certain area municipalities. He also represents individual, corporate, and municipal clients in a wide range of litigation matters including complex commercial disputes, business litigation, real property and title disputes, tax appeals, and municipal enforcement proceedings. Additionally, he serves as an Attorney Trial Referee, a fact finder, and an arbitrator for the Judicial District of Danbury. Jason was recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for Commercial Litigation (2023-2025), Connecticut Super Lawyers® for Business Litigation (2024), Connecticut Super Lawyers®, "Rising Star" for Business Litigation (2011-2020) and Benchmark Litigation "40 & Under Hot List" (2017-2020). He earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from George Washington University, and his J.D., high honors, from University of Connecticut School of Law.
Jack Fazzino was elected in November 2024 to serve his second term as a democratic state representative for the 83rd District, which covers parts of Berlin, Cheshire, and Meriden. Jack has secured a leadership opportunity as the Vice Chair of the Judiciary Committee, which has cognizance over most issues affecting the legal profession, including judicial confirmations, court operations, probate matters, and uniform laws.
Jack is an Associate in Cohen and Wolf’s Municipal, Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Property & Tax & Valuation, Securities, and Higher Education Practice Groups. Jack routinely advises municipalities, large and small businesses, elected officials, homeowners, landlords, and common interest communities through complex legal situations. He represents clients in commercial disputes, tax appeals, quiet title cases, election complaints, eminent domain proceedings, landlord/tenant actions, municipal enforcement, foreclosures, and collections. Jack was recognized by Best Lawyers in America® "Ones to Watch," for Commercial Litigation (2024-2025) and Connecticut Super Lawyers® as a “Rising Star” for State and Local & Municipal (2022-2024). Jack earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, his M.A. from Georgetown University, and his J.D. from Boston College Law School.
