Luke Tashjian is a principal in the Firm’s Trusts & Estates, Business & Corporate, and Tax Groups. Luke’s estate planning and administration practice includes probating estates, designing estate plans, and charitable planning including the preparation of naming rights agreements. In connection with his estate planning practice, he prepares wills, revocable trusts, domestic asset protection trusts, and irrevocable trusts, including spousal limited access trusts (SLATs), irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILITs), grantor trusts, and complex trusts. Luke also advises clients on the transfer of assets to trusts including life insurance policies, private equity fund interests, and business interests. The types of tax controversy and collection matters that Luke represents clients in include domicile and residency audits, income tax audits, sales tax audits, requests for innocent spouse relief, offers in compromise, requests for private letter rulings, and requests for DRS opinions. Luke also represents clients in forming tax-efficient business vehicles, equity compensation, and the purchase, sale, and merger of businesses.
Ellen Sutliffe Hain focuses her practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and elder law as she assists her clients in meeting their estate planning goals and protecting their assets for their loved ones. Ellen has significant experience in navigating the complicated long-term care system and preparing for and filing Medicaid long-term care applications. Ellen is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Fairfield County Bar Association, and Connecticut Bar Association. Ellen is a graduate of Class II of the New England Fellows Institute of the American College of Trusts and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Recently, the ALM and Law.com recognized Ellen as a 2024 “New Leader in the Law” for her outstanding legal work, service to the bar, and service to her community.
Ann Fowler-Cruz is principal in the firm’s Elder Law and Trust & Estates Groups. Ann has been a staunch advocate for the elderly and the disabled for more than two decades. She has the distinction of being a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation. Her extensive knowledge in the area of elder law enables her to assist the elderly and the disabled in realizing the very best quality of life. Her elder law practice focuses on long-term care planning, asset preservation strategies, Medicaid applications, disability planning, utilizing conservatorships/guardianship and special needs trusts. Her estate planning practice includes the creation of wills, trusts, and advance directives. Ann also handles probate administration.
Greta Solomon serves as chair of Cohen and Wolf's Trusts & Estates, Elder Law, and Tax Groups. Greta has been assisting clients in the areas of estate planning, elder law, and probate administration (including estates, trusts, conservatorships, guardianships, etc.) for more than 45 years. Her in-depth knowledge of the tax codes and sophisticated estate planning techniques allows her to provide counsel on complex estate matters. Greta is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). She is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Greta served on the Executive Committee of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and is now an ad hoc member of that executive committee. She is a frequent lecturer on topics related to estate planning and special needs trusts and regularly participates in continuing legal education programs sponsored by the Connecticut Bar Association and the Bridgeport Bar Association.
Tatiana DaSilva represents individual clients looking to develop and implement estate plans that preserve and transmit assets while meeting personal and family goals. In addition to her experience in estate planning and estate administration, Tatiana assists her clients in navigating elder law issues, such as conservatorships, supplemental needs trusts and Medicaid applications. Tatiana serves on the Executive Committee and the CLE Committee of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and is a member of Plan of Connecticut, a Connecticut-based organization that administers special needs trusts. In 2022, she was the recipient of a "New Leader in the Law" award by the Connecticut Law Tribune. Tatiana is a graduate of Class II of the New England Fellows Institute of the American College of Trusts and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
