Attorney Philip C. Pires Elected to Serve as a Commissioner of the Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District
Philip C. Pires, a Principal at Cohen and Wolf, P.C., has been elected to serve as a Commissioner of the Downtown Special Services District (DSSD) in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The DSSD is a special taxing district that is directed by a board of nine commissioners who are elected by downtown property owners. The DSSD is charged with assisting in the transformation of downtown Bridgeport into a vibrant commercial and residential destination.
Mr. Pires also serves on the Bridgeport Community Board of Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut, Inc., an organization dedicated to educating students. grades K through 12, about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy. Additionally, Mr. Pires is serving his second term on Fairfield’s Representative Town Meeting (RTM) and was elected the Democratic Minority Leader of the RTM.
Mr. Pires’ law practice focuses on representing individuals and businesses in a variety of litigation matters, including complex commercial disputes, business litigation, real property and title disputes, and collection actions. He regularly represents municipalities and individuals in commercial and residential property tax appeals, zoning and wetlands enforcement actions, and zoning appeals.
