Luke Tashjian and Sara Bigman Join Cohen and Wolf, P.C.

The law firm of Cohen and Wolf, P.C. is pleased to announce the addition of Luke Tashjian and Sara Bigman

Luke is a partner in the Firm’s Trust & Estates, Business Law, and Tax Groups.  

Luke focuses on estate planning and administration practice including probating estates, designing estate plans, and charitable planning, including the preparation of naming rights agreements. Luke also prepares wills, revocable trusts, domestic asset protection trusts, and irrevocable trusts, including spousal limited access trusts (SLATs), irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILITs), grantor trusts, and complex trusts. 

Luke advises clients on the transfer of assets to trusts including life insurance policies, private equity fund interests, and business interests. The types of tax controversy and collection matters that Luke represents clients in include domicile and residency audits, income tax audits, sales tax audits, requests for innocent spouse relief, offers in compromise, requests for private letter rulings, and requests for Connecticut DRS opinions. Luke also represents clients in forming tax-efficient business vehicles, equity compensation, and the purchase, sale, and merger of businesses.

Luke graduated from the Boston University Graduate Tax Program in 2010 with an LL.M. in Taxation after having received his J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2006.  He earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Connecticut in 2003.

Sara Bigman is an Associate in the Firm’s Employment Counseling & Litigation and Litigation & Dispute Resolution Groups. 

Sara represents individuals and businesses in a variety of civil and commercial litigation matters. She also represents employees and employers in discrimination and harassment lawsuits and wage claims. 

During law school, Sara was the Assistant Managing Editor of the Connecticut Journal of International Law, Outreach Coordinator for the Women Law Students’ Association, and Secretary for the Jewish Law Students’ Association. She was also involved in the Mock Trial Society and the Negotiation Dispute Resolution Society. In addition, Sara participated in the Animal Law Clinic, where she advocated for justice in animal cruelty cases.

Sara graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law with Honors in 2022 after earning her B.A. from the University of Connecticut in 2017.
