Attorneys Buchsbaum & Pires Recognized for Excellence by Benchmark Litigation
BRIDGEPORT, CT – The law firm of Cohen and Wolf, P.C. is pleased to announce that Attorney Jason A. Buchsbaum and Attorney Philip C. Pires have been named to Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under Hot List”.

Mr. Buchsbaum is a principal in Cohen and Wolf’s Litigation and Municipal Law groups. He represents individual, corporate and municipal clients in a wide range of litigation matters including complex commercial disputes, business litigation, construction disputes, real property and title disputes, tax appeals and enforcement proceedings. He regularly advises municipal and private clients on local property tax issues, and advises municipalities on a variety of local governmental matters.
Mr. Buchsbaum is active in local government as well. He currently serves as a member of the Southbury Board of Selectmen, and is the Selectmen liaison to the Town’s Local Emergency Planning Committee and to the Southbury Public Library Board of Directors. He has formerly served as the Vice-Chairman of Southbury’s Charter Revision Commission and on the Seymour Board of Education.
Mr. Buchsbaum has been named to Benchmark’s “40 & Under Hot List” for three consecutive years. He holds an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Rating, the highest possible Peer Review Rating™ from Martindale-Hubbell, and has been named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers®, since 2011. Mr. Pires is a principal of Cohen and Wolf, P.C. resident in the firm’s Bridgeport office. He practices law in the areas of commercial litigation, municipal law, estate and probate litigation, and land use and zoning, and represents both individuals and businesses in a variety of litigation matters.
Active in his community, Mr. Pires serves as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Bridgeport’s Downtown Special Services District, a special taxing district serving the city’s downtown area. He is also presently serving his third term on Fairfield’s Representative Town Meeting (RTM), the legislative body for the Town of Fairfield. In 2018, Mr. Pires was elected to serve as Moderator, the ranking political and parliamentary officer, of Fairfield’s RTM.
Mr. Pires is named to Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under Hot List” for the second consecutive year.
