Jason Buchsbaum Elected to Southbury Board of Selectmen
BRIDGEPORT, CT – Cohen and Wolf Attorney Jason Buchsbaum was recently elected to serve on the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Southbury. Mr. Buchsbaum was elected for a two year term that commences on December 7, 2015. The Board of Selectmen is the governing and legislative body for the Town of Southbury, and is responsible for the establishment of overall policy and strategy for the Town. His prior service to Southbury includes his role as Vice Chairman of the Town’s Charter Revision Commission. He also previously served as an elected member of the Seymour Board of Education.
Mr. Buchsbaum is a Principal in Cohen and Wolf’s Litigation and Municipal groups. He represents individual, corporate and municipal clients in a wide range of litigation matters including complex commercial disputes, business litigation, construction disputes, real property and title disputes, tax appeals, and municipal enforcement proceedings. He also regularly advises municipal and private clients with respect to local property tax and exemption issues, and advises municipalities on a variety of local governmental matters. Mr. Buchsbaum serves as Assistant Town Attorney for the Town of Weston.
In 2013, Mr. Buchsbaum received the prestigious New Leaders in the Law award sponsored by the Connecticut Law Tribune. He is also honored with an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest such peer review rating available to any individual lawyer, and he has been named a “Rising Star" by Connecticut Super Lawyers since 2011.
